why don't Mormon's go shopping on Sunday?

I love the recent #bestday initiative to remind people to keep the Sabbath Day Holy.

I love that the Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gather to ask how it's being received, and that they are careful to let the Spirit guide in each of our individual homes. I love that they teach that the way to live in a changing world, is to simply increase our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ, and that one way to effectively do that is to honor His day.

And I LOVE the affect it is having on my own family, as we have accepted the challenge to "call the Sabbath a Delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words." Isaiah 58:13

Some of the things I have heard from my children. "I wish it were Sunday everyday!"
We were talking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I asked them, "well, what does the 'Church' have to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Like going to a building and sitting there every Sunday." And I loved their responses from the obvious to the more thoughtful: "we go to learn about Jesus Christ" "it's nice to be with other people who believe the same things we do. It makes it easier. They are friends and family, people we love." "We go to take the Sacrament." "It's something that OUR family does, we just do it." Yes it is! Burnah's go to church, because it is a commandment and we love our God!

Sunday is a great way  to get rid of everyday distractions!

And in other news, we sent some very loved Grandparents off on a two year mission for the church in Canada! What a great example they are!
